Patricia Ann Barone

May 1, 1926 - Aug. 29, 1999

Patricia Ann Barone, 73, passed away after a lengthy illness at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, in her home on Bremen Highway, Mishawaka, Ind.

Patricia was born on May 1, 1926, in Mishawaka, to the late Raymond and Christine (Klaer) Parr. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dee Shaffer; and by three brothers, Raymond, David and Louie Parr.

On July 28, 1952, in Mishawaka, Patricia married Dr. Carmello Victor Barone, who survives.

She is also survived by five daughters, Mary Ann Augustine of Cleveland, Ohio, Susan Augustine of Osceola, Ind., Jeanine Reynolds of South Bend, Barbara Barone and Christine Parcell, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Marc and Nicole Grose, Matthew Shaffer, Jessica, Jennifer and Julia Reynolds, Erica and Natalie Parcell; five sisters, Sally Smith of Midvale, Utah, Carol Glastra of South Bend, Kate Holmes of Redwood City, Calif., Judy Crowe of Mishawaka and Chris Cripe of Osceola; and by a brother, John Parr of Osceola.

Patricia was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, until 1979. She was a member of the Mu Delta Sorority, the PTA Council, was a Red Cross instructor, area school's TB Program, St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka's Nurses Alumni, and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, South Bend.

Visitation was from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a vigil service was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 1, in St. Jude Catholic Church, with Fr. James F. Stoyle officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Ansari for his excellent care and compassion during Patricia's illness.
