Clayton J. Barrows

Clayton J. (Ice Cream) Barrows, 58, of 1009 N. College and 1618 N. O’Brien St., was found dead about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Portage.  Police are investigating the death.  He was a former employee of South Bend Roofing Co., and for the past nine years was employed by the Mishawaka Street Department.  Born on July 5, 1925, in Mishawaka, he lived in the South Bend-Mishawaka area all his life.  He is survived by a daughter, Miss December Ellen Barrows of South Bend; and grandson, Charles Earl Barrows of Oklahoma; three sisters, Miss Dorothy Barrows of Chicago, Mrs. Virginia Bennett of Mishawaka and Mrs. Betty Davis of Harrisonville, Mo.; and three brothers, Albert Bickel and Gerald Bickel, both of South Bend, and Arthur Barrows of Washington, D.C.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, which is in charge of arrangements.  Barrows was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Services for Clayton J. (Ice Cream) Barrows, 58, of 1009 N. College, who was found dead early Sunday in the 1400 block of Portage, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka.  Rev. Joseph Bougher of Calvary Temple will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
