SOUTH BEND - Richard S. Bartz, 54, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 6 a.m. Friday in William and Mary Nursing Home, St. Petersburg, after an illness. Mr. Bartz was employed by Globe Engineering.

He was born Aug. 1, 1939, in South Bend. On Dec. 19, 1985, in Corpus Christi, Tex., he married Tresa Clawson Cree. She survives, with a niece, Beth Anne Elliott of Ashland, Mass.; and a nephew, Christopher Bartz, of Milton, Fla.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call an hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 E. Bay Drive, Largo, Fla. 346
