Frank S. Basker, Jr.

SSOUTH BEND - Frank S. Basker, Jr., 85, of Seabring, Fla., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:14 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, in Walker Hospital, Avon Park, Fla. Mr. Basker retired in 1977 as a truck driver from the Levy Ward Wholesale Grocery.

 

He was born on Nov. 4, 1911, in South Bend, and had lived here most of his life. Shortly after retirement in 1977, he moved to Seabring, Fla., where he had resided for the past 18 years.

 

On July 17, 1944, in South Bend, he married the former Helen A. Bunch, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Beverly Bullwith of Highlands, N.J., and Pamela Basker of North Hollywood, Calif.; four sons, Gregory Basker of Silver Beach, N.Y., Douglas Basker of South Bend, Mark Basker of Osceola, Ind., and Jeffery Basker of Huntersville, N.C.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Brosey of Harper Woods, Mich., and Natalie Joseph of Concord, Calif.; and two brothers, George of South Bend and Raymond of Providence, R.I.  Mr. Basker was a World War II Army veteran.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Terry Place officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend.
