Georgia Bassler

Georgia Bassler, 61, of 222 West Lawrence Street, died after an extended illness at 3:37 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, in Saint Joseph's Hospital, South Bend, Ind. She had retired her services after 25 years at Christian Center Cathedral of Praise, going to work besides her husband, Robert Bassler, at New Life Deliverance Center, a place for the lost and hurting. She was a mentor and mother to many, and will always be remembered as someone who gave her best….her children often called her "Mother Moses."

 

Georgia was born Sept. 7, 1941, in South Bend, and on Nov. 4, 1961, was wedded by the eager Robert J. Bassler, who survives. She is also survived by four children, Shelene McCall, Mary Fannon, Sara and Rachel Bassler; and by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Viewing service will be held on today, Dec. 15, in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, between 2 and 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Christian Center, 530 E. Ireland Road, on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. in the dome. Services performed by Pastor Stephen Sumrall. All donations may be sent to: New Life Deliverance Center, P.O.
