SOUTH BEND - Doris E. Batiz, 72, of South 32nd Street, died at 3:45 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Batiz retired in 1965 from the Morris Inn on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. She was born May 10, 1922, in Leechburg, Pa., and lived in South Bend since 1951.

On Oct. 29, 1942, as Doris Goetz, she married Louis Batiz. He survives with two daughters, Glenda Moody of South Bend and Cheryl Leisenring of Zeeland, Mich.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Capo of Bowie, Md., and Ruth Smith of Falls Church, Va.; and a brother, Glenn Goetz of Falls Church. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
