Virginia A. Bauert

Virginia A. Bauert, 90, of North Beiger Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, in Countryside Place, Mishawaka.

Virginia was born on May 28, 1914, in South Bend, Ind., to Adolph and Mary (Kopinski) Cenkush, who both have preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her brother, James Cenkush, and three sisters, Martha Cenkush, Elizabeth Niedbala and Ann Dukai.

On June 19, 1937, in Mishawaka, as Virginia A. Cenkush, she married Charles A. Bauert Jr. Charles died June 23, 1966.

Virginia is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Bauert of Mishawaka; one brother, John (Shirley) Cenkush of Mishawaka; one sister, Dorothy Rynearson of South Bend; two sisters-in-law, Marion Demott and Joan Cenkush, both of Mishawaka; and one brother-in-law, Alex Dukai of South Bend.

Virginia worked at Bendix, Robertson's Department Store, and as a secretary for Fairview Cemetery from which she retired.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, 320 E. Fourth St., Mishawaka. Rev. Dale A. Speckman will officiate the services, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
