Dec. 10, 1938 - March 5, 2010 SOUTH BEND - Helen A. Bauman-Stickel, 71, of South Bend, went to be with her Lord at 9:00 p.m. Friday from her home. She worked for Whitehall Labs in Elkhart and then worked for Revco in Mishawaka before raising her family. She was born on December 10, 1938, in her home in Osceola, IN, to the late Louis E. "Pat" and Gladys L. (Hendricks) Dorsett, and had lived in this area much of her life. In 1963 she married Keith Stickel, who preceded her in death. On July 4, 1979, in South Bend, she married David W. Bauman, who survives. Survivors include two sons, James T. (Vickie) Stickel of Mishawaka and Timothy D. (Jonna) Stickel of South Bend; four grandchildren, Yenelldia L. (Tim) Rutledge of Buchanan, MI, Kelly Lowe of South Bend, and Bonnie and Robert Lowe of the Tampa, FL, area. There are also six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, July Frenzel of Santee, CA, Linda Bovee of Stroh, IN, Hazel Mullinax of Jasper, Georgia, and Carolyn Reum of Granger, IN; and one brother, Carl Dorsett of French Lick, IN. One son, Daniel Keith Stickel, and two sisters, Peggy Widuch and Patty Baker, preceded her in death. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, in Apostolic Temple, 2221 South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46613. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may visit with the family today from 4-8 p.m. in the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615, and one hour prior to services in church. Helen had an amazing memory. She could recollect names and especially dates of everything. She enjoyed photography, reading and crocheting. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma and will be greatly missed. She was a very giving person and would help anyone in need. Contributions in memory of Helen A.
