Sister Mary Tarsilla CSC, 79, of St. Mary’s Convent died Saturday morning in the convent after a lengthy illness. Born Amalie Luise Baum on Aug. 25, 1898 in Erlenbach, Germany, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on March 1, 1923, after coming from Germany. She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1924 and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1926. She was assigned ton ancillary services during her community life. And served in convents of the congregation in Plymouth, Virginia, Idaho, Californis and Utah. She had resided at St. Mary’s Convent since 1972.

 

Friends may call up to the time of services in the convent parlors where rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
