Homer A. Bauwens

Homer A. Bauwens, 75, of 1714 Homewood Ave., died at 5:15 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, following an extended illness.  Mr. Bauwens retired from Uniroyal Inc. in 1972 after 40 years of employment.  He was born Aug. 18, 1909, in Belgium and spent most of his life in Mishawaka.  Mr. Bauwens married Elizabeth Reed on March 1, 1929, in Mishawaka.  She survives along with a niece, Mary Moreno of South Bend.  He was the brother-in-law of Anna Young of South Bend, and Phyllis LeBlanc of Mishawaka.

There will be no visitation.  A private family service is planned at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel at Fairview Cemetery.  Burial will follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society of St. Joseph County.  The Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
