Clyde Bawcum

Clyde Bawcum, 81, of Birchwood Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, in his residence. He was born on Sept. 7, 1918, in Decatur County, Tenn., to the late George S. and Livonia (Sanders) Bawcum. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Brasher.

 

On May 8, 1944, in Liverpool, England, Clyde married the former Sheila M. Roberts, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mary Bawcum of Jefferson, Wis.; a son, John Bawcum of Winamac, Ind.; four grandchildren; and by two sisters, Velma Bowman of Parsons, Tenn., and Opal Roberts of Jackson, Tenn.

 

Clyde was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 153.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 14, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 15, in St. Anthony's, with Fr. Barry England officiating. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony Building Fund or to St. Coletta's of Wisconsin, Jefferson, WI 53549.
