Mary Jean Bean, 90, of Hicksville, N.Y., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died at 5:25 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, in the Grace Plaza Nursing Center, Great Neck, N. Y.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1908, in Morris Run, Pa.

On May 16, 1936, as Mary Swinsick, she married Joseph W. Bean, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1996. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Kruszynski and Helen Roytek; and by a brother, Leonard Swinsick.

She is survived by two half sisters, Clementine Skodinski and Agnes Lyntuch, both of South Bend; a niece, Joyce Chamberlain of Tigard, Ore.; and by three nephews, James Kruszynski of Walkerton, Ind., Robert Kruszynski of Dunnellen, Fla., and Charles Swinsick of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
