Tommie Lee Beasley

Mr. Tommie Lee Beasley, 53, dear husband and brother who resided on South Kenmore Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an extended illness at 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Tommie was born to the union of the late William and Lizzie (Cotton) Beasley in Macon, Miss., on April 28, 1947. Coming from Macon, he had lived in South Bend since 1966. On June 10, 1972, he was united in wedlock to Juanita Bonds-Jefferies.

He was employed by Reinke Construction until the time of his illness. He was also a member of International Council of Laborers and Hod Carriers, Local Union 645. In 1997 he joined the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. Loving family members who survive include his wife, Juanita Beasley; five sisters, Birdie Dill of Hattiesburg, Miss., Rebecca (Willie) Dixon, Beatrice (Jim) Dodson and Lillie (Curtis) Yarbough, all of South Bend, and Alice Frazier of East St. Louis, Ill.; and a brother, Alphonia (Evelyn) Beasley of Detroit, Mich.; along with a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Katie Beasley and Lorine Edwards.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Alford's Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
