James H. Beckham

April 1, 1924December 17, 1974

 

James Hassell Beckham, 50, of 1917 Randolph, died at 8:15pm Tuesday in his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.  Beckham was a Bendix Corp employee, having worked Aero-Space division 24 years.

 

Born April 1, 1924, in Savannah TN, he had lived here 24 years, coming from Savannah.  On December 23, 1950, in Savannah, he married Bettye Parker,who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Mark of Freed-Harman College, Henderson TN and David, at home; three brothers, J.S. Morris, and Bill, all of Savannah, and a sister, Mrs. Kattye Ellis of Alabama.

 

Services will be at 1pm Friday in the Church of Christ Savannah.  Rev. James W. Boyd will officiate.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Savannah.

 

Friends may call from 6 to 9:30pm today in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd.  The body will be taken to the Shackelford Funeral Home, Savannah.  Beckham was a member of the Donymoyer Church of Christ and a WW II veteran.
