Mrs. Frieda Dora Behrndt, 1227 Elliott St., died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital following a six-month illness.
Born in Tracy, Ind., on Jan. 5, 1906, she had lived in South Bend since 1936, moving here from LaPorte.
She was married Oct. 16, 1929, Mishawaka to Walter F. Behrndt, who survives. She formerly had worked at Schilling’s Photo Equipment Co. She painted the murals in Northern Indiana Children’s Hospital.
other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Edith Coble of South Bend; Mrs. Meta Glenn of Michigan City; Mrs. Ernest Schuster of Union Mills; Mrs. Adrian Bartmess of LaPorte and two brothers, Arthur J. and Carl Klein, both of LaPorte.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home and until noon Tuesday when the body will be taken to the Giese Funeral Home in LaPorte for services at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. E.W. Broders of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Bend will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
