Lila L. Benedict

Lila L. Benedict, 55, of Osceola, Ind., passed away Monday morning, April 8, after an illness. She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Benedict; her son, Timothy; her parents, Harold and Lela Miller of Wayland, Iowa; two brothers, Ron R. (Diana) Miller of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and Jim Miller; and by a sister, Sheila (Kevin) Fort, all of Wayland.

 

Lila was born in Milford, Neb., and at the age of seven years moved with her parents to the Wayland area. She graduated from Waco High School, and attended Hesston College for one year before moving to Goshen, Ind., where she worked for 22 years for the Mennonite Mutual Aid Association.

On Oct. 2, 1982, she married Thomas Benedict. She was a member of New Creation Fellowship, Granger, Ind. At home, Lila enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and flowers. In the church, she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and sang in the church choir.


Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Services will be conducted by Reverend David Klahr of New Creation Fellowship at 2 p.m. today, April 10, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Memorial donations may be made to the New Creation Fellowship, Granger.
