Jack V. Bennett

Jack V. Bennett, 70, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., after an illness. Mr. Bennett was born on Oct. 2, 1925, in Coffee County, Tenn., and lived here since 1959, coming from Tennessee.

 

On Nov. 17, 1984, in Mishawaka, Ind., he married Harriett M. Clawson Harley, who survives with two sons, Charles V. Bennett of Lansing, Mich., and Stephen D. Bennett of El Cajon, Calif.; one daughter, Sandra J. Zakrocki of South Bend, Ind.; two stepsons, Frank L. Harley Jr. of Jenison, Mich., Mike J. Harley of Tampa, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Jill D. Lindley of Mishawaka, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don, Bill, Douglas, all of Buchanan, Mich.; one sister, Ruby Ferrell of Tullahoma, Tenn. One son, Garold K. Bennett preceded him in death on March 1, 1980. Mr. Bennett was a self-employed carpenter for 36 years.

 

Viewing will be at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, Ind., on Sunday, July 21, from 2-3 p.m. and the family will receive friends until 6 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, at the funeral home with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions can be made to Penn-Harris-Madison Cancer Unit of St. Joseph County.
