Sister Mary Dunstan CSC, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died in the motherhouse of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross there, Sunday night after a long illness. She was born in County Meath, Ireland, as Anna Bennett, and came to this country in 1891. She entered the congregation in that year and received the habit of the order in 1892, making her final vows in 1897. She spent nearly a half century teaching in Holy Cross schools in California, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. She retired recently and returned to the convent here. Survivors include a brother, Rev. William Bennett SJ of British Honduras.

 

A requiem mass will be sung in the convent chapel at 6 a.m. Tuesday, with burial in the Community Cemetery. Friends may call in the novitiate parlor.
