WOODLAND - Mary Jane Berger, 73, of 64126 Indiana 331, died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Mrs. Berger was a receptionist for the former Ellsworth Department Store, Bremen. She was born April 11, 1921, in Woodland, and was a lifelong area resident.
On June 27, 1948, in Woodland, as Mary Jane Mochel, she married Lester Berger. He survives with two brothers, Richard Mochel of Woodland and Virgil Mochel of Wadsworth, Ohio. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and organist for 50 years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, and one hour before services on Thursday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
