William Henry Berkheiser.

     William Henry Berkheiser, aged 74, 6117 South Main street, died at 2 a. m. Sunday in his residence after three years illness.  He was born in South Bend May 15, 1876, and lived all his life here.  He was married here in 1898 to Pauline Breunlin, who died in 1946.  He was a retired cabinet maker and had been employed by the South Bend Toy Works and the Polar Fuel & Ice company.  Surviving are two sons, Karl and Robert, of South Bend; five grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Roy Knapp, of Buchanan, Mich.  Friends may call after 7 p. m. today in the Orvis funeral home and until noon Wednesday.  Then the body will be taken to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church for funeral services at 2 p. m. Wednesday.  Rev. E. W. Broders, pastor, will  officiate.  Burial will be in Highland cemetery.  Mr. Berkheiser was a member of St. Paul's church.
