Victoria H. Bernath

SOUTH BEND - Victoria H. Bernath, 78, of Crown Hill Drive, formerly of U.S. 31, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday in her home after an illness. Mrs. Bernath retired from Saint Mary's College. She was born Dec. 10, 1915, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On Nov. 23, 1939, in South Bend, as Victoria H. Buzolich, she married George M. Bernath. He died Feb. 7, 1988. She is survived by five daughters, Georgia A. Old of Lansing, Christine ''Tina'' Fricano of Prospect Heights, Ill., Rita K. Holcomb of Denton, Texas, Mary Lynn Dorn of Coppell, Texas, and Margaret ''Micki'' Wagner of Wakesha, Wis.; two sons, Victor ''Bud'' of Washington, Ind., and James P. of South Bend; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Louise K. Buzolich and Mary Jane Buzolich, both of South Bend. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

 

Services will be at noon Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to United Parkinson's Foundation, 220 S.
