Frank B. Besinger

MISHAWAKA - Besinger, Frank B. 90, of Mishawaka, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010, in his home. Frank was born January 16, 1920, in Mishawaka, a son of the late Clement and Elnora "Laura" (Cook) Besinger. He was a lifelong resident of Mishawaka. On January 22, 1938, Frank married Katherine Mazurkiewicz. Frank loved his lifetime career as a farmer. He truly enjoyed farming and never considered it work. Frank was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. He especially liked hunting raccoon and had a great fondness for his horses. The center of Frank's life was farming and family. Frank's surviving family includes his wife of 72 years, Katherine; a daughter, Elnora (Gene) Freeman of Mishawaka; a son, Richard (Sharon) Besinger of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Mark (Becky) Freeman, Marty (Jan) Freeman, Monty (Jennifer) Freeman, Bart (Marianne) Besinger, Lynn (Kevin) Goralczyk and David (Katia) Besinger; and 16 great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Besinger; and by a sister, Elnora Schelstraete. Friends may spend time with Frank's family Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. The Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka. Contributions in Frank's memory may be made to St. Joseph Grade School. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
