SOUTH BEND – Frank A. Bessignano, 70, of 1132 E. Corby Blvd., died at 7:30 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of a month. He was born in Basil, Italy on Oct. 28, 1888, and had lived in South Bend 40 years, coming from Peru, Ind. He came to the United States in 1906.

In 1925 in South Bend he married Minnie Faccinto. He retired from Drewry’s Limited. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Tepe of South Bend and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday in the Walsh-Bilancio Colonial Chapel. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas E. Peyton CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Bessignano was a member of Chapter 6, Disabled American Veterans. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday in the Funeral Home,
