Mary M. Bickel

Mary Margaret Bickel, 65, of Sunnymede Avenue, South Bend, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 4, in her home.
Mary was born on Oct. 19, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to Joseph and Josephine (Meyer) McManus, who preceded her in death and survived by a sister, Lauretta Murphy.
On June 26, 1965, in East Chicago, Ind., she married Thomas J. Bickel who preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Natalie M. (James) Aldridge of South Bend, Ind., and Jennifer A. (Andrew) Sexton of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, Jeffery A. (Pamela) Bickel of South Bend and Patrick J. Bickel of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Brittney and Jordan Aldridge, Aubrey, Caitlyn and Tayler Bickel and Samantha and Andrea Sexton; a sister, Lauretta (Thomas) Murphy of Calumet City, Ill.; and by several nieces and nephews.
Mary worked for Tri-Valley Glass Company of South Bend for many years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister who fought a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Services will be Monday, Feb. 9, at noon in St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the church.
