Wilford G. Bickel

Wilford G. Bickel, 51, a former resident of Mishawaka, died Wednesday evening in the Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind.  He lived here until 1942 when he married Vera Madlem in Goshen, Ind., and they moved to Elkhart to make their home.

Surviving are his widow; one son, William Bickel, of Auburn, W. Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Collins, South Bend; a stepson, Bruce A. Holdeman, of Monticello, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Sadie Bickel, South Bend; a brother Ronald Bickel of South Bend; four sisters, Mrs. Ronald E Rich and Mrs. Glenn McMillan, of South Bend.  Another sister, Mrs. Clarence Hoose, of Mishawaka and Mrs. Harris Hambright, of Logansport, Ind.

Mr. Bickel was an employee of the American Wheelabrator and was a member of Mishawaka Aerie 2083, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Moose Lodge and Father’s Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, of Elkhart.  The body is in the White Funeral Home in Elkhart.

 

Editor: He married Lillian Sabina Shuler 1-29-1919 and this ended in divorce. He then married Vera E. Madlem in 1942
