Irma Bingaman (Oct. 4, 1914 - Oct. 2, 2005)

Irma Bingaman, 90, of the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2005, in Healthwin.

Irma was born on October 4, 1914, in South Bend, to the late Louis and Theresa (Racz) Kovasics, and was a lifelong area resident. On September 28, 1957, as Irma Kovasics, she married George Bingaman, who preceded her in death on September 8, 1986. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Marchmont, Louis and Stephen.

Mrs. Bingaman is survived by her three daughters, Betty Ashcraft and Carol (Robert) Deal of South Bend, and Jane (David) Welsh of Mishawaka, Indiana; her son, Gary G. (Kimberly) Bingaman of Granger, Indiana; a brother, Eugene Kovas of New Carlisle, Indiana; and by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Irma worked for Bendix in South Bend for 40 years.

Funeral services for Irma will be held at 2 PM today, October 5, 2005, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, with burial to follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call for two hours prior to the services.
