Melvin T. Bingham

May 28, 1953 - May 13, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Melvin Tyrone Bingham, 56, departed life at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Melvin was born May 28, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of South Bend, IN. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1972. Melvin served in the United States Marines from June 1972 to January 1973. Rev. Bingham was an active member of Spiritual Israel Church And Its Army for many years. Those left to cherish his memories include special parents, Casey McNeill, Shirley Garrett (Buddy) Wheeler; three special children, Crystal Esters of South Bend, IN, Shameka (John Sr.) Harris of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Shawn Taylor of Atlanta, GA; seven sisters, Lorraine Eppenger of Detoit, MI, Gathon (Thomas) Murray, Marceline Bingham, Catherine Bingham, Latonya Bingham, Theresa (Tony Sr.) Fennessee, all of South Bend, IN, and Jacquelyn (Grant) Wright of Grand Rapids, MI; four brothers, Wade (Diane) Bingham of Ballwin, MO, Rev. Marvin Bingham of South Bend, IN, Sylvester Bingham of Jackson, TN, and Reginald Bingham of Oakland, CA; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Bingham of Jackson, TX, and Jerrie Crocker of Detroit, MI. Melvin has touched many people throughout his life and will truly be missed by all. We want to thank and acknowledge the seventh floor staff of Memorial Hospital, Hospice House, Interm, Real Service, and Whispering Pine Apartment for their care and support of our loved one, Melvin Bingham. Visitation services for Rev. Melvin T. Bingham will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 22, 2010, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
