SOUTH BEND - James H. Black, 59, of 132 E. Bowman St., died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mr. Black was a former mechanic for Shell Oil Co. He was born April 14, 1935, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by three sons, Dale, Faron, and Ty, all of South Bend; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Jacoby and Judy Penley, both of Michigan; and two brothers, Ralph and John, both of Michigan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Cremation will take place. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
