Donna Belle Blair

Mrs. Donna Eberhart Blair, widow of former Ball Band Rubber Co. president George W. Blair, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday in the Ravine Home, Berrien Springs, after a brief illness. A resident of Greencroft Tudor Village, Elkhart, she was 87.

Mrs. Blair was born in Mishawaka on May 10, 1889, and was a lifetime resident of the city. As Donna Eberhart, she married Blair in Mishawaka on Nov. 27, 1912. He died on Oct. 24, 1953. Blair also was president of the First National Bank of Mishawaka.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Elizabeth) Bucklen of Elkhart; a son, George W. Jr. of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Manly Miller, reader for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, will officiate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.

Mrs. Blair was active in many civic organizations and served on several boards.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist; Daughters of the American Revolution; Antiquarian Society; South Bend Art Association; Mishawaka Garden Club; Mishawaka Women's Club; Northern Indiana Historical Society and the Indiana State Historical Society.

She served on the Mishawaka Public Library Board, the Indiana State Library Board, the board of the Ravine Foundation and the board of the South Bend Symphonic Orchestra.
