Linda Marie Bloode

Linda Marie Bloode, 55, of South Bend, Ind., passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, in Memorial Hospital. Her husband and sons were at her side.

She was born in South Bend on June 22, 1948, to Raymond and Rita (Grohowski) Lain. She was the oldest of two children. Her father Raymond preceded her in death.

On Sept. 24, 1966, in South Bend, she married Ron Bloode. They lived in South Bend their entire lives. Linda is survived by her husband, Ron Bloode of South Bend; her son, Rick and his wife, Cheryl of South Bend; her son, Brian and his wife, Kelly of New Carlisle, Ind.; her mother, Rita Lain of South Bend; and her brother, Wayne Lain of South Bend. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Bryce, Kyle, Jordyn, Zachery and Brian.

Linda was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family was always first. She was very giving and selfless. She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, shopping and playing slot machines. Linda will be terribly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 7, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
