Evelyn I. Bloom, 86, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, Ind., passed away at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.

 

She was born Feb. 2, 1915, in South Bend, Ind., to Daniel and Minnie (Frick) Reaves. She graduated from South Bend Riley High School in 1932. On Sept. 1, 1934, Evelyn married Gale Bloom in South Bend. Gale preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry on Jan. 2, 1991; and by two sisters, Veda and Genevive. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Ann Bloom of Plymouth; granddaughter, Shari Bloom of Plymouth; granddaughter, Kelly Bloom of South Bend; grandson, Gale Bloom of South Bend; nephew, L.D. "Jim" (Bess) Schmidt of South Bend; nephew, Robert (Bette) Schmidt of Florida; and by a cousin, Melvin Frick of South Bend.

 

Private family services will be held today, May 22, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, IN 46563, with Joanne Boys officiating. Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery, South Bend. The Van Gilder Funeral Home of Plymouth is in charge of arrangements. The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 425 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN.
