Judith W. Blosser

Judith W. Blosser, 64, of Lincoln Way West, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, in Hospice House of St Joseph County. She was born on March 18, 1940, in South Bend, Ind.

 

On July 7, 1972, she married Hurle "Jack" Jackson Brown, who preceded her in death on October 1974. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Peter Carl and Betty Margaret Winther; and two grandsons, Zachary Shaffer and Tyler Bergland.

 

On Sept. 12, 1975, in South Bend, she married Richard Blosser, who survives. Judith graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1958 and attended two years of college at IUSB. She worked for CAMPFIRE INC. during the summers at the camp and in the office during the winter. Judith also worked for Bendix from 1968--1972. She was a member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church and of the Order of Eastern Star (Lakeville). Judith was an avid quilter and bear collector.

 

Surviving Judith is her husband, Richard Blosser of South Bend; three daughters, Brenda (David) Shaffer of Elkhart, Ind., Kay Bergland of North Liberty, Ind., and Karen (Dick) Bogard of North Liberty; one son, Mark (Kathy) Blosser, also of North Liberty; eight grandchildren, Nick Shaffer, Jennifer and Angela Bergland, Nicole, Matthew and Andrew Bogard, and Cindy and Dan Nemeth; one nephew, Peter Carl Wallace of Jacksonville, Fla.; one niece, Kristen Margaret Wallace of Warrenton, Va.; and great-nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may visit with the family today, Oct. 31, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1501 W. Cleveland Road, South Bed. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to service on Monday. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
