Hans Bloss

April 20, 1931 - July 25, 1997

MISHAWAKA - Hans Bloss, 66, of Three Rivers, Mich., formerly of South Bend-Mishawaka, passed away at 11:50 a.m., Friday, July 25, in Hospice House, South Bend, after an illness.

Hans was born in Nuernberg, Germany on April 20, 1931, to George and Margrete (Rothenberger) Bloss, both of whom have preceded him in death. He moved to the area from Germany in 1958.

 

On Oct. 20, 1951, Hans married the former Greta Graff in Germany. She survives along with two daughters, Margit Horvath of Mishawaka and Trudi (Ed) McNulty of Bristol, Ind.; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah and Ashleigh Horvath of Mishawaka, Daniel and Alison McNulty of Bristol, one great-grandchild, Alexis Horvath of Mishawaka; and two brothers, George and Walter, both of Nuernberg. Hans retired in 1991 from the University of Notre Dame after 30 years as a contractor for the Reinke Construction Co.

 

Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the funeral home with Fr. Robert J. Austgen CSC from the university officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, Ind.
