GRANGER - Alice A. Blume, 89, residing on Beech Road, Granger, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, at the Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Blume was a homemaker, born on Jan. 18, 1909, in Larwill, Ind., to the late Sam and Lizzie (Bennett) Mohn. She had resided in the South Bend, Mishawaka and Granger areas since 1926.

 

She married in Mishawaka, in 1930, to Ernest H. Miller, who preceded her in death in 1958. In 1963, in Granger, she married Harry R. Blume, who preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Polman in 1980.

 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest ''Bud'' and Bonnie Miller of Granger; two stepdaughters, Harriet King of Osceola, Ind., and Flora Kristensen of South Bend; three grandchildren, six step-grandsons, seven great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Mary Friend of Columbia City, Ind.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 27, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola. Rev. Kevin Gregory, pastor of the Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ in Osceola, will officiate. Burial and gravesite services will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola. Mrs. Blume was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, 10955 Edison Road, Osceola, IN46561, to which memorial contributions may be made in her memory.
