Harold Stanley Blume

SOUTH BEND - Celebrating the life of Harold Stanley Blume, 92, who passed away following an illness on Sunday, Aug. 16, at his home on Ashmont Place, South Bend, Ind. He was born on June 16, 1906, in Lightsville, Ohio, to Roy and Hattie Blume.

 

On Oct. 2, 1932, he married the former Florence Cross in Mishawaka, Ind. He is survived by his wife Florence, of 65 years; his sons, Larry D. Blume and Richard Lee Blume; two daughters, Janice Y. Andrews and Sharon F. Lingerfelt; and by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a 93-year-old sister, Edna Study of Brunswick, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son James, who died in infancy.

 

Mr. Blume was a graduate of the Indianapolis College of Pharmacy (known now as Butler University), and served the community as owner of Blume Pharmacy from 1945 to 1966, when he sold his business and retired.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Mr. Blume will be laid to rest peacefully at Ferrisville Cemetery, Mishawaka.
