Henry Carl Blum

WALKERTON - Henry Carl Blum, 90, of
Route 3, died at 11:20 a.m. Saturday in the home of his daughter
on Woodward Avenue. Mr. Blum was a retired police officer, having
served with the Chicago Police Department for 25 years. He was
born on May 17, 1904, in Chicago, and had lived in Walkerton
since 1960, coming from Chicago.
In 1930, in Chicago, he married Mary Sheffner.
She died on March 20, 1982. He is survived by two daughters,
Adele Gregory of Mishawaka and Bonnie Pluta of
South Bend; two sons, Paul of Wheaton, Ill., and Gerald of
Chicago; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A
daughter, Carol Rodriguez died on March 5, 1993. Mr. Blum
was a lifetime member of Illinois Police Association.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in
Corpus Christi Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will be in
Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
Monday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3402 Lincoln Way W., South
Bend.
