Darlene E. Bodnar, 52, of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Miss Bodnar had been employed by South Bend Lathe, Bremen Iron and Bendix. She was born on May 7, 1947, in South Bend, to Steve and Mary Bodnar. Her father preceded her in death.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Bodnar of South Bend; two sisters, Joyce Lucas and Kathlene Grossnickle, both of South Bend; a niece, Jennifer Beringer of South Bend; a nephew, Steven Grossnickle of Mishawaka, Ind.; a great-niece, Ashleigh Beringer; and by five aunts, two uncles and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 20, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
