Aloysius J. Boehnlein

June 21, 1920 - Feb. 13, 1998

MISHAWAKA - Aloysius ''Al'' J. Boehnlein, 77, of East Fourth Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, in his residence.

Aloysius was born in Mishawaka on June 21, 1920, to Martin and Margaret (Weinkauf) Boehnlein, who have both preceded him in death.

Mr. Boehnlein retired from Uniroyal in 1983 after 43 years.

On June 21, 1941, in Mishawaka, Aloysius married Margery E. Basham, who survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Mary Swartz of Mishawaka; three sons, John Boehnlein of Franklin, Ind., Michael Boehnlein of Mishawaka and Allen Boehnlein of Granger, Ind.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Irene McGann, Rosemary Boehnlein, Catherine Basham, Loretta Sipe and Elizabeth Boehnlein, all of Mishawaka, Helen Pfaller of Merit Island, Fla., and Margaret Pryblo of LaPorte, Ind.; and by three brothers, James Boehnlein, Carl Boehnlein and Martin Boehnlein, all of Mishawaka.

Mr. Boehnlein was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and VFW Post 360.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Yast. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind., where military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 360

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street. A parish Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
