Carl A. Boehnlein

Oct. 26, 1909 - Feb. 10, 2000

Carl A. Boehnlein, 90, of East 4th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind.

Mr. Boehnlein was born on Oct. 26, 1909, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Martin and Margaret (Weinkauf) Boehnlein. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bernard Boehnlein, Joseph Boehnlein, Al Boehnlein and Lawrence Boehnlein.

Mr. Boehnlein is survived by seven sisters, Rosemary Boehnlein, Catherine Basham both of Mishawaka, Margaret Pryblo of LaPorte, Ind., Rita Pfaller of Orlando, Fla., Elizabeth Boehnlein, Loretta Sipe and Irene McGann, all of Mishawaka; two brothers, Martin Boehnlein and Jim Boehnlein, both of Mishawaka; and by several nieces and nephews.

He was a clerk for the United States Post Office for 23 years, retiring in 1972. Mr. Boehnlein was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, and was also a member of A.A.R.P. He was a World War II Army veteran and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #360 in Mishawaka.

As per Mr. Boehlein's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14th, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka.
