Casimir W. Bogunia

May 1, 1928 - June 4, 2001

Casimir W. "Casey" Bogunia, 73, formerly of S. Warren Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 3:15 p.m. Monday, June 4, in Fountainview Place of Mishawaka, Ind.

He was born May 1, 1928, in South Bend, and was the son of Valentine and Victoria Bogunia. Mr. Bogunia retired in 1990 from Dodge Manufacturing. On Nov. 26, 1949, in South Bend, he married Theresa Jeziorski, who preceded him in death Aug. 8, 1993. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Monica "Mona" Bogunia of South Bend; two sons, Casimir (Julia) Bogunia of South Bend and Thomas (Jodi) Bogunia, both of Lakeville, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Violet Bobelenyi and Adeline Medich of South Bend; and by a brother, Frank Bogunia of South Bend.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Casimir Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mr. Bogunia was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church.
