Helen C. Bokhart

Nov. 2, 1907 - July 26, 2001

Helen Clara Bokhart, 93, daughter of John and Elizabeth Held, was born in North Judson, Ind., on Nov. 2, 1907, and moved to Mishawaka, Ind., in 1919. She was married to Ernest Bokhart on Nov. 14, 1925, who passed away Feb. 10, 1977. She was also preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Judy Bokhart of Dallas, Texas; and a daughter and son-in-law, Sharlene and Rod Preston of Mishawaka; and by a granddaughter, Kay Eller of Michigan.

Clara's joy in life was her garden and tending to her flowers. In her final years she took joy in such simple things in life as a McDonald's burger and fries and playing bingo.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 30, with wake prayers at 3:30 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, in the Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Rev. Robert Yast will officiate. Burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
