David William Bone

Aug. 4, 1958 - Nov. 5, 2009
SOUTH BEND - David W. Bone, 51, was born in Des Arc, AK, to the late William H Bone and Winifred Walker of VT. He died peacefully at home after a sudden illness. David was raised in AK by his father and grandparents. After graduation he moved to the East Coast to spend time with his grandmother, mother and four siblings. He worked for Bigelow Nurseries in Northborough, MA, during this time. David left there after 14 years to travel and come to South Bend, Indiana, in 1999 to spend time with his sister and her family. David was currently working at Target, Ireland Road, as a cart attendant. He took pride in his work and was named "Employee of the Month" on more than one occasion. He was an avid football fan, loved to fish, hunt and watch classic Western movies. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends. David leaves behind his mother, Winnie of VT; sisters, Vicki (Mike) Rogers of Elkhart, Kirby Anne Brown and Merri Walker; brothers, Bruce and Raymond Walker, all of MA. He has many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. His family will miss him and cherish the memories we have each created with him. Special thanks to the Madison Center staff. They have been instrumental in his life and kept him involved in many activities. Thank you to the employees at Target on Ireland Road for being such good friends and looking out for him. There will be no services or visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend, and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to Madison Center, to the Center for the Homeless, or to the Northern Indiana Food Bank. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
