April 14, 1951 - Oct. 20, 1999

Emmett Michael "Mike" Booker, 48, of West Battell Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away in his residence at 10:20 p.m. on Wednes-day, Oct. 20, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was born on April 14, 1951, in Columbus, Ga., as the son of late Emmett and Margie (Kite) Booker. On Jan. 27, 1997, in South Bend, Ind., he married the former Margaret Davis.

Mike leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Meg; his daughter, Jennifer Booker of Atlanta, Ga.; his three sons, Emmett Michael Booker, Jr., of Atlanta, Corwin Booker and Joseph Booker, both of New Carlisle, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Amy (Randy) Morrison of South Bend; a stepson, Robert Ackley of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Taylor Webster, Randy Morrison, Jr., and Samantha Morrison, all of South Bend; and a brother, Bill (Wendy) Booker of Phenix City, Ala.

He was a self-employed carpet installer in the area for 20 years. Mike was a member of the Eagles of South Bend and was a member of the Chain of Lakes Gun Club. Mike was also County Representative Region #1 of the Abate of Indiana in St. Joseph County. He was a United States Army veteran.

Mike loved life, his friends and family, as well as his Harley and his beloved dog, Libby.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 23, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday in the funeral home, with Brother Steve Nani officiating.

In lieu of flower's Mike's family requests memorial contributions be made to Children's Make-A-Wish Foundation of Indiana Inc., 111 Monument Circle, Suite #356, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

In the winter of my time when still-life is frozen and I've done my part,

I'll carry pictures of others in my pocket, and a portrait of you in my heart.
