Mrs. Mary Helen Borkowski, 77, of 1410 Rumley St., LaPorte, formerly of Mill Creek, died Saturday in the LaPorte Community Hospital after an extended illness.  She was born July 20, 1905 in New Carlisle and was a lifetime area resident.  On Oct 30, 1922 in Terre Coupee, as Mary Helen Wroblewski, she married Gustav Borkowski, who died Dec 11, 1961.  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Helen Wesszo of South Bend and Mrs. Josephine Pietrowski of LaPorte; three sons, Edward of LaPorte, Arthur of New Carlisle and Richard of Mill Creek; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two brothers, John Wroblewski of New Carlisle and Michael Wroblewski of South Bend.  Two sons, Raymond and Gustav Jr., preceded her in death.

 

Services will be conducted Wednesday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Sienkiewicz, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday and Tuesday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home.  She was a member of Polish National Alliance 83.
