Jerome C. Borlik

Jerome C. Borlik, 88, of South Bend, passed away at 11:46 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, in his home. Jerome was born on August 13, 1918, in South Bend, to Albin and Lottie (Zaworski) Borlik. His parents have preceded him in death as well as his brothers, Ervin “Brother Robert Vianney” and Daniel, and a sister, Margaret Kwest.

 

On June 29, 1946, Jerome married Marie (Balukiewicz) in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She survives along with a daughter, Kathleen M. Borlik; son, Robert J. (Mary Lou) Borlik; grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan; and a sister, Mary Jane Mackowiak.

 

Jerome served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, was a warehouse man at L&M Contract Interiors, and was employed at Studebaker's as part of the 290 Trim Group until their closing in December 1963. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. His enjoyment came from gardening, reading, working crossword puzzles, and belonging to the Stroke Club.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, October 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, at a later date. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND, is assisting the family.
