30, 1927 - April 23, 2010SOUTH BEND - W. Laureen (Davis) Bostedt, 82, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Friday April 23, 2010, in South Bend. She was born on August 30, 1927, to the late Kenneth H. and Velma E. (Ford) Davis in Chicago, IL. Along with her parents; one sister, Barbara Z. Turner also preceded her in death. Laureen retired in 1989 from the St. Joseph County Clerk's office in South Bend, IN. She volunteered for more than 15 years at the St. Joseph County Public Library in South Bend, where she worked in the History and Genealogy Department. On April 17, 1948, as W. Laureen Davis, she married Raymond William Bostedt in Chicago, IL. He died on December 30, 1998. She is survived by her two sons, Terry A. Bostedt; William J. Bostedt of Cloverdale, IN; two grandchildren, Jamie L. Bostedt of South Bend; Erik Bostedt; one sister, Verna E. (James) Boonstra of Maui, HI; and one brother, Alan P. (Jan) Davis of Batavia , IL. Mrs. Bostedt was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church; Schuyler Colfax Chapter DAR; Indiana Mayflower Society; Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc.; and was a founding member of the South Bend Area Genealogical Society. Visitation will be from 9 to noon on Thursday April 29, 2010 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, burial will follow in Beverly Cemetery, Blue Island, IL.
