Melvin E. Bottorff

Mr. Melvin E. Bottorff, 76, of Cushing Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9 a.m., Friday, in his residence, after an illness. Mr. Bottorff was born on March 1, 1920, in South Bend, and had lived here all of his life.

 

On June 18, 1943, he married Irene Urban who survives, along with two daughters, Mary Bottorff and Kathleen Bottorff, both of South Bend; a son, Robert Bottorff of Sumerland Key, Fla.; and a nephew, Thomas Millard of South Bend.

 

Mr. Bottorff retired in 1980 after 35 years with the United States Post Office. He was a member of the Wally Byam Caravaners.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., today, in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Services will be conducted at the graveside at 1 p.m., on Monday, in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Memorial contributions, in Mr. Bottorff's memory, may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
