Victor Elroy Bowering, 48, of 308 W Merchant St., New Buffalo, died at 3:30am Sunday in his home of a heart attack.  He was a maintenance man for Dunham-Bush Co, Michigan City.

 

He was born August 11, 1918, in South Bend and had lived in the area all his life.  On September 3, 1939, in Valparaiso, he married Ethel Jane Reaves, who survives, along with six sons, Victor M., Daniel E. and Gerald D., all of South Bend and Curtis J., James H. and Donald E, all at home; six daughters, Mrs. Sharon E. Kruszynski and Mrs. Linda Jane Scroggs, both of South Bend, Carolyn J., Ilene D. and Mary Ann, all at home, and Mrs. Sandra K. Robb, of LaPorte; seven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Hagopian and Mrs. Jane Krill, both of South Bend.

 

Friends may call after 7pm today in the Orvis Funeral Home.  Services will be held there at 2pm Wednesday, Rev. C. William Cole, pastor of the Ardmore Brethren Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  He was a veteran of WW II and a member of the St Joseph County Civic and Democratic Club
