SOUTH BEND - Michael David Bower, 35, of South Bend, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center following an illness. Michael was born October 23, 1974, in Mission Viejo, CA, and had lived in South Bend since 2006, coming from Anaheim, CA. He is survived by his beloved mother, Linda L. (Rupel) Bower of Granger, IN; his father, Richard G. Bower of Tennessee; his fiancée, Jessica Cunningham, and her two children; and his brother, Brian E. Bower of Portland, OR. Michael was a service advisor at McDaniel's Harley Davidson in South Bend. The great passion in his life was riding his Harley. He went to rallies and enjoyed friendships with his biker buddies. While living in California he would traditionally spend Thanksgiving week in the desert camping and dirt bike riding with his closest friends. He and his mother, Linda, moved to South Bend in 2006 to live near his Rupel relatives. There will be no service or visitation at this time, per Michael's wishes. A "hog roast" to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at the Welsheimer Crematory. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alcohol and Addictions Resource Center, 818 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617. Family and friends may leave e-mail condolences at www.welsheimer.com.
