Sister M. Frances Boydston

Sister M. Frances Eugene (Mary Frances Boydston) CSC was born in Oakland Neb., to the late Everett Leroy and Frances McDonald Boydston. She was one of three children. Her sister, Martha, predeceased her.

 

Sister is survived by her brother, John (Irma) Boydston of Charlotte N.C.; brother-in-law, Richard T. (Stephanie) Timsak of Fresno Calif., and nephews, Stephen L. Timsack of Carmel Valley Calif., and Thomas R. Timsack of Fresno; and many friends.

Before entering the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Sister was a student at St. John's High School, Fresno. After entering the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Sister Frances Eugene trained to be an elementary school teacher and taught for 35 years in schools in the West: California, Utah, and Idaho. Sister received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary-of-the-Wasatch in 1950. A change of ministry and Sister became the office assistant at St. Barnabas, Long Beach Calif. in 1975. Then at St. Catherine's, Ventura Calif., she assumed the position of office manager in 1976. In this position, she was responsible for the financial affairs of St. Catherine's-by-the-Sea until she retired to become a volunteer to the community in 1997. Sister decided, in 2003, to return to Saint Mary's, Notre Dame Ind. Sister Frances Eugene was active in the Ministry of Prayer until her death.
